Near the center of the city there is a house of a wealthy businessman Letychevskyi—owner of one of Cherkasy tobacco factories (now the House of mourning is located here). House of Letychevskyi is distinguished by peculiar architecture. In the 1920’s, there was a “triple” of the Chekists (secret service agents), who ruined the fate of many Cherkasy inhabitants.
The Children’s park in the central part of the city is decorated with rockeries and flowerbeds that create a special atmosphere of comfort. There are children’s attractions on the territory. The park has both historical and recreational significance for the city. At the beginning of the 20th century the Garden of Yarova and the first theater in the city were located here. In 1902, a local businessman I.Yarovyi founded a park and a theater on the territory of 1.5 hectares. He instructed development of the first commercial park to his sister Hanna Ivanivna Yarova, and the theater was in charge of himself. “Socialite” Hanna Yarova has lived for a long time in St. Petersburg, however, after all she returned to Cherkasy.

Entrance to the park was paid, the price was high enough for that time, but it compensated costs for its maintenance. There were about 20 trees of various breeds including fruit trees in small park compositions. Flower beds consisted mostly of annuals, that allowed to update constantly color compositions.
